Bond yields trade marginally lower on Wednesday

The yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 1 basis point lower at 6.85% from its previous close of 6.86% on Tuesday

Bond yields traded marginally lower on Wednesday even as crude oil prices dropped after the Trump administration reportedly offered a 15-point ceasefire plan to Iran. 

In the global market, the 10-year Treasury yield jumped on Tuesday on renewed volatility in oil markets and continued military attacks in the Middle East. Furthermore, Oil prices fell on Wednesday after U.S. President Donald Trump said that Washington and Tehran are ‘in negotiations right now’ and indicated Iran is keen to reach a peace agreement, despite the Islamic Republic denying any direct talks with the U.S.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 1 basis point lower at 6.85% from its previous close of 6.86% on Tuesday.  

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 1 basis point higher at 6.59% from its previous close of 6.58% on Tuesday.
