UPL gains as its arm inks pact to make further investment in Sinova
Subsequent to this investment, the total holding of UPL Brasil in Sinova will increase from 49.97% to 55.81%
UPL is currently trading at Rs. 642.65, up by 2.90 points or 0.45% from its previous closing of Rs. 639.75 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 635.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 647.65 and Rs. 634.95 respectively. So far 9716 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 812.00 on 02-Jan-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 565.25 on 30-Mar-2026.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 671.00 and Rs. 565.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 54406.71 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 33.51%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 56.43% and 8.74% respectively.
UPL’s step-down subsidiary--United Phosphorus Holdings Brazil B.V (UPL Brazil) has entered into an agreement for further investment in Sinova lnovacoes Agricolas S.A. (Sinova) (Formerly known as Sinagro Produtos Agropecuarios S.A.) an associate entity of the company. UPL Brasil will invest around $86.7 million in Sinova. Subsequent to this investment the total holding of UPL Brasil in Sinova will increase from 49.97% to 55.81%.
Sinova is an Associate Company which is held by the company’s step down subsidiary viz. UPL Brazil. The current acquisition is in the nature of further investment and hence it is a related party transaction. Equity infusion is proposed to be made to address working capital requirement and reduction of debt. Sinova plays an important role in promoting and reselling UPL products in one of the main agricultural regions of Brazil (Cerrado/savanna). The said transaction is expected to be completed on or before May 15, 2026.
