Bond yields trade lower on Friday
The yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 1 basis point lower at 6.68% from its previous close of 6.69% on Thursday
Bond yields traded lower on Friday despite Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal held a meeting with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick and US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor and discussed ways to expand trade and economic partnership between the two countries.
In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields fell on Thursday as investors awaited a wholesale inflation reading and weighed the state of the U.S. economy. Furthermore, oil prices settled lower after a choppy session on Thursday as investors tracked developments in talks between the United States and Iran over the OPEC member’s nuclear program, weighing potential supply concerns if hostilities escalate.
Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 1 basis point lower at 6.68% from its previous close of 6.69% on Thursday.
The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading flat with its previous close of 6.39% on Thursday.
