Bond yields trade higher on Thursday

The yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 02 basis points higher at 6.94% from its previous close of 6.92% on Wednesday

Bond yields traded higher on Thursday despite HSBC Flash India Manufacturing PMI surging from 53.9 in March to 55.9 in April, while HSBC Flash India Services PMI Business Activity Index rose to 57.9 in April from March’s final reading of 57.5.

In the global market, U.S. 10-year Treasury yield rose on Wednesday after Donald Trump announced that the ceasefire with Iran would be extended indefinitely. Furthermore, oil prices rose Wednesday as markets assessed the evolving dynamics between the United States and Iran. 

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 02 basis points higher at 6.94% from its previous close of 6.92% on Wednesday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 05 basis points higher at 6.65% from its previous close of 6.60% on Wednesday.
