Indian Hotels acquires 51% stake in Brij Hospital
Brij has become a subsidiary of the company
Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) along with its step-down subsidiaries - namely ANK Hotels and Pride Hospitality - has completed the acquisition of 51% of the share capital (on a fully diluted basis) in Brij Hospital (Brij), for a total investment of up to Rs 222 crore. The acquisition comprises of purchase from existing shareholders of Brij as well as primary investment in Brij through a combination of Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares and partly paid-up equity shares. Consequent to the acquisition, Brij has become a subsidiary of the company.
Earlier, the company had executed the Share Subscription and Purchase Agreement, Shareholders’ Agreement and Share Purchase Agreement for the same.
Indian Hotels Company and its subsidiaries are collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces and recognized as one of Asia's largest and finest hotel company. It operates in the luxury, premium, mid-market and value segments of the market.
